บนไทร โฮเทล แบงค์คอก สร้างอยู่บนต้นไทรอายุกว่า 60 ปี และอาคารเก่าที่เรานำมาตีความใหม่ ให้มีชีวิตชีวาเหมือนสีสันของกรุงเทพ

เราแต่งเติมอาคารโบราณที่ยืนหยัดผ่านช่วงเวลาหลายทศวรรษ ให้ล้อไปกับต้นไทรใหญ่ ทั้งโถงบันไดกลางที่ตกแต่งด้วยลายเส้นแนวตั้งเล็กเรียวเหมือนรากอากาศของไทร และสีสันที่ล้อไปกับต้นไม้อย่างพื้นไม้สีน้ำตาล การตกแต่งด้วยสีส้มแดงละเขียว เปรียบเสมือนกับสีใบไม้ ตามช่วงฤดูกาล

เราโอบล้อมโรงแรมด้วย Façade สีน้ำตาลทองแดงเหมือนลำต้นของไม้ใหญ่ ที่จะค่อยๆเปลี่ยนสีเข้มขึ้นจนกลายเป็นเขียว เหมือนการเปลี่ยนสีของยอดโดมหรืออนุสาวรีย์ในแถบยุโรป จนกลายเป็นลวดลายที่ประทับด้วยร่องรอยของกาลเวลาและยุคสมัย

โรงแรมบนไทรจึงเกิดจากความตั้งใจของทีมงาน ที่จะบอกเล่าเรื่องราวของสี่แยกเล็กๆใจกลางกรุงเทพ และสะท้อนความสวยงามที่ไม่หยุดนิ่ง พร้อมมอบความสะดวกสบายแก่ผู้มาเยือน

Refurbish in the year 2022, the building originally was a block of shophouse dating back to the 1950s. The name BONSAI refers to Thai words where ‘BON’ means on top and ‘SAI’ is a specie of local Ficus Tree. On the property we have a large Ficus tree even older than us and the original building, hence comes the name and the concept of the hotel.

The Ficus tree is our main design inspiration, from the vertical lines along the main staircase which represent the aerials roots, to the colors of the hotel rooms which represents colors of the leaves; pink of the drier season when the Ficus tree shed its leaves and green for the wet season when the tree buds new leaves. The colors pink and green are use throughout the design of the hotel.

The façade was imprinted with the crisscrossing lines in the tree bark. Copper was chosen because the iconic green patina which forms as copper ages.
